[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Homeplus announced on January 27 that it will implement a voluntary retirement program for senior staff holding positions of section chief or above, as well as department heads or above at its headquarters.
Eligible employees as of January 2026 include:
Section chiefs or above at headquarters
Department heads or above
Department heads holding honorary positions
Employees who are scheduled for regular retirement before September 2026 are excluded from this program. Applications are open from January 27 to February 8, 2026. Those opting for voluntary retirement will receive a severance payment equivalent to three months of their monthly salary.
Homeplus explained that, as the company is currently undergoing corporate rehabilitation, it has been necessary to restructure its workforce at headquarters due to reduced sales and staffing needs after closing underperforming stores. The initiative aims to improve cash flow, operational efficiency, and overall competitiveness.
In addition to the voluntary retirement program, the company will also reassign certain headquarters staff to store positions.
