[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Harim Group, which was fined 5 billion won by the FTC for unfair support of its affiliates, filed a lawsuit against it, but lost.

The Seoul High Court Administration Department 6-2 (Director Wi Kwang-ha, Hong Sung-wook and Hwang Eui-dong) ruled against the plaintiffs in a lawsuit filed against the Fair Trade Commission by nine companies including Harim Holdings and Olpum.

Harim Group was charged with a correction order and a fine of about 5.418 billion won by the Fair Trade Commission for unfairly supporting Olpum Co., Ltd. at the top of its governance structure. Olpum was 100% owned by Kim Joon-young, the eldest son of Harim Holdings CEO Kim Hong-kook.

Through this, the FTC judged that Olpum received about 7 billion won in unfair support.
