[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Group will implement a six-day workweek for executives of all its affiliates as management uncertainties have been amplified due to conflicts between Israel and Iran following the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to the business community on the 18th, executives of Samsung's 19 affiliates, including Samsung Electronics, decided to voluntarily work six days a week as early as this weekend.

By affiliate, Samsung Electronics, a key affiliate, is already working six days a week, with executives from the support and development departments, but the rest of the executives will also join in the future.

In addition to Samsung Electronics, executives of electronics affiliates such as Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung SDS and Samsung Display will also work six days a week as early as this week. Earlier, executives of the three design, procurement and construction (EPC) companies, Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Samsung E & A, have been working six days a week since early this year. Financial affiliates such as Samsung Life Insurance are also considering joining the six-day workweek.

However, regardless of executive attendance, employees below the team leader are strictly prohibited from working six days a week.
