[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] A man in his 20s has died after falling while conducting maintenance work at a Celltrion manufacturing facility in Incheon, authorities said.
According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency and local fire authorities on March 22, the victim, identified only as A, fell approximately three meters to the ground at around 11:04 a.m. inside a building at the Celltrion plant in Songdo, Yeonsu District.
He was found in cardiac arrest and received emergency treatment, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), before being transported to a hospital by paramedics. He was later pronounced dead.
Authorities said the accident occurred while the worker was repairing a pipe leak from a ceiling panel on the first floor. The panel reportedly broke, causing him to fall.
Labor authorities have ordered an immediate suspension of work at the site and plan to investigate the incident under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and other relevant regulations.
