[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] CJ CheilJedang has received an acquisition proposal for its bio division from the private equity firm MBK Partners.

According to a disclosure filed with the Financial Supervisory Service on Friday, CJ CheilJedang confirmed that it has received an offer from MBK Partners but clarified that no concrete decision has been made yet.

This announcement comes after recent reports from the investment banking (IB) industry, which suggested that MBK Partners had proposed to acquire the bio division for approximately 5 trillion KRW.

The 5 trillion KRW offer is said to align closely with the valuation that CJ CheilJedang had hoped for.

CJ CheilJedang stated that it would provide an update or make another disclosure within three months or as soon as a more concrete decision is made.
