[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Koo Bon-sung, a 66-year-old former vice chairman of Ourhome, was indicted without physical detention on charges of siphoning off a large amount of money from the company.

The Criminal Affairs Department 4 (Senior Prosecutor Cho Man-rae) at the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office said on the 20th that it has indicted former Vice Chairman Koo without detention.

According to the prosecution, former vice chairman Koo is accused of purchasing gift certificates with company money from July 2017 to 2021, cashing them, using them personally, and nearly doubling his bonuses and other salaries regardless of his management performance during the same period, pocketing more than the internal limit (embezzlement and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes).

Former Vice Chairman Koo embezzled about 300 million won and caused about 2 billion won in damage to the company, prosecutors said.

Ourhome filed a complaint with the police in November 2021 after finding former Vice Chairman Koo's breach of trust and other charges in its own audit. Gangseo Police Station in Seoul sent him to the prosecution in July last year.
