[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, South Korea – September 21, 2025 – Lotte Card CEO Cho Jwa-jin has issued a formal apology to Lotte Group and its employees after a massive hacking incident at Lotte Card sparked reputational damage across the wider Lotte brand, despite the company not being directly affiliated with the group.

On September 18, Lotte Group lodged a strong protest against Lotte Card, citing serious harm to its brand value and a decline in customer trust. In response, Lotte Card sent an official letter titled “CEO Apology Regarding Lotte Card Cybersecurity Breach.”

“I sincerely apologize as CEO of Lotte Card for the concern and distress caused to Lotte Group and its employees,” Cho wrote. He further expressed regret to customers, saying, “I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience and concern this incident has caused Lotte Group’s valued customers.”
