[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor and Genesis will start their certified used car business in earnest.

It is the first case of entering the used car business among domestic finished cars.

Hyundai Motor held a media day for "Hyundai Motor and Genesis Certified Used Car" at Hyundai Motor's Commercialization Center in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, on the 19th and announced the official launch of the certified used car business.

Hyundai Motor will start selling certified used cars to ordinary customers on the 24th. Vehicles subject to sale have been designated as accident-free vehicles within 100,000㎞ for five years.

The used car market is 30 trillion won per year and the volume of transactions reaches 2.38 million cases. It's 1.4 times the volume of new cars.

Hyundai Motor declared that the manufacturer will supply certified used cars to the market and completely change the market climate. In particular, Hyundai Motor's manufacturer-certified used cars to the domestic market are differentiated from existing vendors in that they go through facilities, equipment, manpower, and commercialization processes built through technology and know-how accumulated through new car production, research and development (R&D), and services for a long time.

Hyundai Motor emphasized that it will put transparency, trust, and customer value first.

Considering that there are more than two months left this year, Hyundai Motor has set its sales target at 5,000 units. The company plans to expand its sales to 20,000 units next year.
