[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LG Electronics blocks access to generative artificial intelligence (AI) services such as chat GPT in the company network.

According to the industry on the 26th, LG Electronics (066570) recently announced that it will open an enterprise chat GPT to its employees on the in-house chatbot service 'Elgenie' from the 30th.

In response to growing concerns over corporate security leakage due to the use of generative AI, the plan is to block access to Chat GPT, Bard, and Bing AI. Through the introduction of enterprise chat GPT, the company plans to further strengthen its in-house security.

In the industry, there have been concerns about information leakage due to the use of generative AI services. Samsung Electronics has also announced that it will temporarily restrict the use of generative AI through in-house PCs to executives and employees of DX division starting this month.

Samsung Electronics is developing its own AI tool while limiting the use of existing generative AI, which is highly feared to leak information. We plan to support translation, document summary, and software development support using directly developed AI models in the future, and to utilize generative AI in a secure environment.
