[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SAN FRANCISCO — November 1, 2025 (local time) — Jensen Huang, Chief Executive Officer of NVIDIA Corp., has sold more than $1 billion worth of company shares since June under a prearranged trading plan, according to Bloomberg News.
Huang concluded his share sales on October 31, when he sold the final 20,000 shares as part of a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan established in March. The plan allowed him to sell up to 6 million shares by the end of this year.
Rule 10b5-1 plans permit corporate insiders, including CEOs, to sell shares based on predetermined conditions and schedules to avoid accusations of insider trading.
After the 90-day mandatory waiting period expired, Huang began selling in June. On June 20 and 23, he sold 100,000 shares each day, raising roughly $14.4 million. During this period, NVIDIA’s stock price surged 40.8%, from $143.83 on June 20 to $202.49 on October 31.
The total value of the 6 million shares covered by the plan rose from $860 million to approximately $1.21 billion, reflecting NVIDIA’s massive stock rally.
The company’s market capitalization jumped from $3 trillion on June 12 to $4 trillion on July 10, and on October 29, NVIDIA became the first company in history to surpass a $5 trillion market cap.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Huang’s net worth now stands at $176 billion, ranking ninth globally, up $61 billion since the start of the year.
Bloomberg also reported that Huang has sold more than $2.9 billion worth of NVIDIA stock since 2001. He currently holds about 3.5% of the company’s shares, including those owned via personal and family trusts, excluding unvested restricted stock units (RSUs).
In addition to the sales, Huang donated over $300 million worth of NVIDIA stock this year to his personal foundation and charitable funds, according to Bloomberg.
The stock surge has also elevated seven NVIDIA insiders, including Huang, into the billionaire ranks.
