[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] SK Materials Co., Ltd., a material and chemical technology affiliate of SK Group, will establish a joint venture with Net Power, an eco-friendly natural gas company in the United States.

NetPower's carbon-neutral technology will be used to target Asia's eco-friendly natural gas market together.

According to SK Materials on the 22nd, the company and NetPower recently signed a $ 50 million (about 66 billion won) listed private equity investment (PIPE) contract. The two companies will establish a joint venture based on this contract. Launched in 2010, NetPower is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, and operates power plants in Texas and other countries. NetPower and SK Materials plan to establish a joint venture to develop net oxygen supercritical carbon dioxide generation facilities in Asia following the investment.

"NetPower's technology will help SK achieve its goal of achieving carbon neutrality in all businesses by 2050," SK Materials said. "We will set up net power plants across Asia to speed up decarbonization."
