The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has launched an investigation into DB Insurance over allegations of unfair support to its subsidiaries.

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has initiated an investigation into DB Insurance, the flagship company of the DB Financial Group, over suspicions of unfair support for its subsidiaries.

According to sources in the insurance industry on the 30th, the FTC has been conducting on-site inspections at the DB Insurance headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul since the previous day (28th), securing documents related to transactions between subsidiaries.

The FTC is investigating allegations that the DB Group provided unfair support by channeling work to specific subsidiaries or imposing tolls on them through internal transactions.

DB Insurance is the flagship company of DB Financial, exercising vertical control over its subsidiaries. Within the group, subsidiaries include DB Life Insurance, DB Financial Investment, DB Asset Management, DB Savings Bank, and DB Capital.

While an FTC official stated that they cannot confirm details about the ongoing investigation, they mentioned plans to take strict measures if violations of the law are found.
