Major conglomerates have begun to cut back on their director pay limits.

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 4th, Samsung Electronics will present an agenda to lower the total amount of director compensation from 48 billion won last year to 43 billion won this year at the regular shareholders' meeting on the 20th.

Samsung Electronics will also reduce the long-term and repair limits paid separately from general remuneration from 15 billion won to 10 billion won.

In LG Group, LG Electronics, LG Chem, LG Household & Health Care, and other major affiliates, including LG Holding Company, where Chairman Koo Kwang-mo is located, have decided to reduce the limit on director compensation one after another.

LG will raise its agenda to lower the limit from 18 billion won last year to 17 billion won this year at its regular shareholders' meeting on the 27th. LG Electronics will lower the moving repair limit from 9 billion won to 8 billion won, LG Chem from 8 billion won to 7 billion won, and LG Household & Health Care from 8 billion won to 6 billion won.

SK Telecom will reduce the total amount of directors' compensation from 12 billion won to 10 billion won, even though the number of directors increased from 8 last year to 9 this year. SK Square has decided to reduce the total number of directors from seven to five, lowering the total amount of moving remuneration from 12 billion won last year to 10 billion won this year.

HD Hyundai will keep its total remuneration limit from 3.4 billion won last year to 2.7 billion won this year, while maintaining five board members, including Chairman Kwon Oh-kap and Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun.
