[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] After 54 years, all Lotteria signage will disappear from Japan.

According to Nikkei and Yomiuri newspapers on January 21, Zensho Holdings plans to rebrand all Lotteria outlets in Japan to its hamburger chain “Jetheria” by the end of March.

Zensho Holdings, a local food service company, acquired the Lotteria chain from Lotte Holdings in 2023. As of the end of last year, Zensho operated 106 Lotteria stores and 172 Jetheria outlets in Japan.

Lotteria first entered the Japanese market in 1972, but has struggled with declining performance amid intensifying competition.
