[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung Securities raised CJ's target price from 123,000 won to 133,000 won on the 4th.

"Of the eight coverage companies, CJ has more than 10 percent in dividends per share. It exceeded the consensus of 2,568 won by 17 percent. It rose 20 percent year-on-year to 3,000 won as dividends per share," Samsung Securities said.

CJ is the only one among Samsung Securities' eight coverage companies whose dividends increased more than 4% year-on-year.

"3,000 won per share means about 100 billion won in dividends. It means allocating 97% of dividend income in 2023," Samsung Securities said. "In 2024, more than half of CJ's dividend income is expected to be generated from CJ Olive Young. This is why CJ Olive Young's rise in corporate value should be reflected in CJ's stock price."

CJ also saw its dividend yield rise to 6.5% through a dividend surprise.
