The demands for this year include a raise in basic salary by 159,000 won (excluding pay raises based on seniority), a performance bonus of 30% of the previous year's net profit, and an increase in conveyor allowances up to 200,000 won.
Additionally, as separate demands, the union is pushing for the introduction of a 4-hour workday every Friday, an extension of retirement age linked to national pension eligibility by age, among others.
Furthermore, they demand new regular staff recruitment, job creation through investment attraction in new businesses, a 900% increase in bonuses, and the establishment of a social contribution fund.
The union also demands that if vehicle models produced in domestic factories are discontinued, importing them back from overseas plants should be prohibited, and decisions regarding vehicle production in overseas plants should be made after discussions with the union. They also request the establishment of a greenhouse gas emission management system.
Hyundai Motor Company and the labor union are set to begin formal negotiations on the 23rd of this month.
