[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kim Bum-soo, the founder of CA, decided to disband the private company 'K-Cube Impact'.

According to the information technology (IT) industry on the 8th, K-Cube Impact, a subsidiary of K-Cube Holdings, decided to disband at a shareholders' meeting held on January 12 this year.

K-Cube Impact is a management consulting firm established on August 8, 2020, and is a complete subsidiary of K-Cube Holdings, which Chairman Kim holds a 100% stake.

The decision to disband appears to be a willingness to resolve the controversy over the "octopus-style expansion" that Kakao has been pointing out. The Fair Trade Commission is taking issue with many of Kakao's affiliates.

K-Cube Impact is classified as a Kakao affiliate related to Chairman Kim.

As of last month, there were 137 Kakao affiliates. With the acquisition of SM Entertainment in May 2022, the number of affiliates increased to 147, but it decreased by 10 in about nine months.

Recently, Kakao has merged with Kakao Space, a real estate development subsidiary, to reduce affiliates.
