5,826 victims of ‘Maple Story Probability Manipulation’ applied for group dispute mediation

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] The Korea Consumer Agency received an application for collective dispute settlement from consumers affected by game company Nexon's stochastic items, and about 5,800 people applied for damage relief.

According to the Korea Consumer Agency on the 6th, a total of 5,826 applications for "compensation for damages caused by the manipulation of a stochastic paid item (cube) in the Maple Story game" received from the 22nd of last month to midnight on the same day.

An official from the Korea Consumer Agency explained, "The final number of dispute settlement applications is expected to be around 5,800 as there may be withdrawals of mediation applications."

Collective dispute settlement is a system in which more than 50 people apply for damage relief together when they suffer similar damage.

If both consumers and businesses agree to the mediation, mediation will be established, which will take effect in court. If adjustments are not made, consumers can proceed with procedures such as winning.
