[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] POSCO's labor union, in its ongoing lawsuit against the company regarding regular wages, has seen nearly 7,000 union members participate.

On the 14th, the union announced that 6,670 members had submitted power of attorney documents for the regular wage lawsuit. The union stated that it would continue to recruit additional participants for one week until the 20th, and explained that power of attorney documents from members who had not yet submitted them were still being received.

Regular wages refer to the hourly rate, daily rate, weekly rate, monthly rate, or contract rate agreed upon to be paid to workers for regular and uniform work. Factors such as regularity, uniformity, and fixed amounts are criteria for determining regular wages.

If these items are included in regular wages, the calculation basis for overtime pay also increases. If the union succeeds in its lawsuit, the company will be required to retroactively pay any unpaid regular wages.

The expected timing for POSCO's labor union to file the lawsuit regarding regular wages is in July.
