[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] CJ ENM announced on the 11th that FIFTH SEASON, a US-based global studio acquired last year, has attracted $225 million (about 290 billion won) in investment from Japan's leading entertainment company Toho.

On the 10th (local time), Fifth Season carried out a third-party paid-in capital increase worth $ 225 million to Toho International. Toho International is an American corporation of Toho. When the investment is completed, Toho will become the second-largest shareholder with a 25% stake in the Fifth Season.

This investment is the largest external investment ever attracted by a studio under CJ ENM. The investment will be used to expand the global distribution business.

Founded in Tokyo in 1932, Toho is Japan's leading entertainment company.

CJ ENM and Fifth Season will plan and develop Toho contents globally in the future and participate in content production in Japan. Toho's planning and development personnel and responsible producers also collaborate with key people in the fifth season.
