[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] According to industry sources on the 17th, LG Energy Solution has recently signed a contract to supply Energy Storage System (ESS) batteries totaling 4.8 gigawatt-hours (GWh) to Hanwha Q CELLS' US subsidiary. Although the specific contract size has not been disclosed, it is known to be the largest scale of ESS projects worldwide that LG Energy Solution has undertaken to date. The contract period extends until October 2026, and the supplied ESS will be installed in La Paz County, Arizona, USA.

In addition to batteries, it has been reported that LG Energy Solution will also provide system integration (SI) through 'LG Energy Solution Vertech.' Vertech is a subsidiary specializing in ESS SI officially launched by LG Energy Solution in 2022, possessing capabilities encompassing ESS planning, design, installation, operation, and maintenance.

Last year, LG Energy Solution and three Hanwha Group affiliates (Hanwha Q CELLS, Hanwha Momentum Business Division, Hanwha Aerospace) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for business cooperation in ESS and other battery-related businesses.
