[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Seoul, Korea – November 1, 2025 – LS Cable & System announced today that it has signed a submarine cable supply contract worth approximately KRW 160 billion for the Formosa 4 Offshore Wind Project in Taiwan.

The Formosa 4 project, developed by Synera Renewable Energy (SRE), will construct a 495MW offshore wind farm located 18 kilometers off the western coast of Taiwan. It is a core initiative under the Taiwanese government’s second phase of offshore wind commercialization.

LS Cable & System has steadily expanded its presence in Taiwan since securing its first submarine cable contract in 2019. The company successfully won all projects in phase one, followed by the first project of phase two, Fengmiao, and now the Formosa 4 contract, marking another consecutive win.

Taiwan aims to secure 5.7GW of offshore wind power by 2025 and add an additional 15GW by 2035, reaching a total capacity of over 20GW. As a result, the market for submarine cable materials and installation in Taiwan alone is projected to exceed KRW 5 trillion.
