[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] A consortium of Hyundai Engineering & Construction has won an order to build a main facility for the Shinhanul nuclear power plant worth 3.1 trillion won.

The Hyundai Engineering & Construction Consortium announced on the 25th that it signed a contract with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co. to build the main facilities for Shinhanul Nuclear Power Plants No. 3 and 4 at the Radiation Health Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 22nd.

The construction of the main facilities of the Shin Hanul Nuclear Power Plant No. 3 and 4 is a project to build two 1,400MW nuclear power plants in the northern part of Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Construction will begin in April next year and is scheduled to be completed in October 2033.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction will form a consortium with Doosan Energy and POSCO E&C to participate in the construction. Hyundai Engineering & Construction, the main construction manager, won 1.7157 trillion won, or 55 percent of the total.
