[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] IBK Investment & Securities predicted an operating loss of 600 billion won in the first quarter for LG Display on the 25th. This is because P OLED supplies in the first half of the year are expected to decrease significantly due to seasonality. Sales and operating profit in the first quarter of this year are expected to be significantly lower than in the fourth quarter of 2023. W OLED is also expected to be sluggish compared to last year.

LG Display announced on the 24th that it recorded sales of 7.3959 trillion won and operating profit of 131.7 billion won in the fourth quarter of 2023 (October to December). Net profit was 50.5 billion won and EBITDA (pre-amortization operating profit) was 1.2718 trillion won (profit ratio 17.2%).

IBK Investment & Securities said, "Large-sized OLED is expected to increase in volume due to the effect of new customers, and the Guangzhou LCD TV line, which is being sold, is also expected to improve profitability as the operation rate increases due to increased volume from domestic customers."
