[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 8th that it will voluntarily take corrective action (recall) after manufacturing defects were found in 44,281 units of 48 models manufactured, imported and sold by Hyundai Motor, Mercedes-Benz Korea, BMW Korea, Honda Korea and Man Truck Bus Korea.
First of all, Hyundai Kona SX2 18,664 units will take corrective action from the 15th due to design errors in battery wiring (connected wiring) protective material, and Nexo 246 units will take corrective action from the 14th due to poor curtain air bag inflation.
In addition, 12,521 units of 22 models, including the Mercedes-Benz E 350 4MATIC, will take corrective action from the same day due to a lack of durability in parts (impeller) in fuel pumps.
8,826 units of 19 models, including the BMW 528i, have been under corrective action since the 2nd due to the lack of durability of the variable valve timing system fixed bolt.
2,080 Honda CR-V hybrids were found to have design errors in battery cables, while 1,944 units of four models, including mantruck TGM cargo, were found to have poor assembly of fuel filter heater circuit boards.
