[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Consumers suffered great inconvenience as Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's auto insurance payment details were not registered in the National Tax Service system on the 15th when the National Tax Service's year-end settlement simplification service was opened.

According to the National Tax Service, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance subscribers were unable to check their insurance payments on Hometax (www.hometax.go.kr). This is because Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's auto insurance-related data has not been registered in Hometax. According to the National Tax Service and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, data related to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance is expected to be reflected in Hometax on the 20th.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has the largest market share in the auto insurance market with 28.4% as of the first half of last year. "Since it is a period for revision and additional data until the 18th, we will be able to receive additional data from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance and other companies or institutions and provide final data from the 20th," a National Tax Service official said.

Each company has different data submission dates, so workers who have to submit year-end settlement simplification data before the 20th must receive insurance payment receipts directly from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance and register separately. However, due to the 'Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Hometax Failure' on this day, customers had a hard time because they could not connect to the customer center due to the large number of applicants for receipt issuance.
