[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] With the resumption of Hyundai Motor's Asan plant, the supply of Grandeur, which posted sluggish sales last month, is also expected to normalize.

Hyundai Motor announced on the 14th that it will resume production as its Asan plant completes facility construction for electric vehicle production.

Sales of the Grandeur, Hyundai's popular model, plunged 60.2 percent on-year last month in the wake of the suspension of production. The Asan plant stopped production from December 31 last year to the 13th of this month.

Hyundai Motor has been working on the power line facility for about two months to produce the Ioniq 7.

Upon completion of the construction, the Asan plant plans to mass-produce a large electric SUV Ioniq 7, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of this year. As a result, the production products of the Asan plant will increase from three models - the Grandeur, Sonata and Ioniq 6 - to four models.
