[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] LGU+ has invested 10 billion won in 42Maru, a language artificial intelligence (AI) startup.

LGU+ announced on the 8th that it has signed a business agreement with 42Maru based on equity investment and business cooperation worth 10 billion won to strengthen its business capacity of business-to-business (B2B).

42Maru is a company with artificial intelligence-based deep semantics (Deep Semantic) question and answer (Question Answering) solutions. Deep Semantic Q&A is a more advanced technology than the existing artificial intelligence driving method that presents multiple candidates for correct answers, and is a technology that produces only one answer after understanding the user's inquiry in a meaningful way.

The two companies will also conduct joint research and development on large language models and artificial intelligence-related technologies for upgrading artificial intelligence solutions and launching new services. It seeks synergy between LGU+'s communication-specific language model ixi-GEN based on LG Group's supermassive artificial intelligence EXAONE, 42Maru's deep learning-based machine reading solution (MRC42) and search augmented creation solution (RAG42).
