[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] About 75,000 cases of personal information of franchise representatives were leaked from Woori Card.

Woori Card announced on the 26th that about 75,000 cases of individual (credit) information of franchise representatives were leaked to card recruiters between January and April this year at the Incheon Sales Center. The leakage information is the name and phone number of the representative of Woori Card merchant and whether or not to join Woori Card.

However, sensitive information such as resident registration number was not included in the leakage information. Woori Card said it recognized the leak through its own internal control channel and responded through its own audit. A Woori Card official said, "We are currently notifying the representative of the merchant (who suffered from the leak) of the leak."

The case was found to have leaked information from representatives of credit card merchants such as restaurants and shops, and that general customer information was not leaked. Woori Card has posted related facts and apologies on its website in accordance with the Credit Information Protection Act. Under the current law, if a credit card company leaks personal information, it will be fined up to 100 million won or suspended for six months.

Woori Card bowed its head, saying, "We will strictly reprimand related employees, while further strengthening internal control such as educating employees and checking information protection systems to prevent the recurrence of similar cases."
