KT & G president candidates have been narrowed down to four candidates

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] KT & G Presidential Candidate Recommendation Committee has confirmed four candidates for the second round of presidential candidates.

The second round of shortshots (in alphabetical order) selected by the presidential candidate recommendation committee are Kwon Kye-hyun, former vice president of Samsung Electronics, Bang Kyung-man, current senior vice president of KT & G, Lee Seok-joo, former president of AK Holdings, and Huh Chul-ho, current president of KGC Ginseng Corp.

The presidential nomination committee will conduct face-to-face in-depth interviews with these candidates sometime next week and finalize and disclose the final candidates. The appointment of the next president will finally be decided at a regular shareholders' meeting at the end of March.

Bang Kyung-man, senior vice president of KT & G, and Heo Cheol-ho, president of KGC Ginseng Corporation, are classified as internal personnel, while the other two are outside personnel.

Bang Kyung-man (53), senior vice president of KT & G, is one of the two board members, like President Baek Bok-in. He served as head of the Global Headquarters, head of the Business Division and head of the Strategic Planning Division.

Heo Cheol-ho (57), president of Ginseng Corporation, served as head of KT & G Daegu headquarters and head of Namseoul headquarters and has served as president of Korea Ginseng Corporation, a subsidiary of KT & G, since March 2022.

Kwon Gye-hyun (60), former vice president of Samsung Electronics, was a diplomat and served as head of the Southeast Asian PM Group and executive director of the Southwest Asian PM Group at Samsung Electronics and vice president of China.

Lee Seok-joo (55), former president of AK Holdings, served as president of Jeju Air and then as president of AK Holdings until 2022.
