[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hanwha Ocean announced on the 15th that it will suspend the production of Okpo Shipyard in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, where the explosion caused the death.

Hanwha Ocean will resume production after identifying the cause of the accident investigation and preparing countermeasures.

According to the industry and police, an employee of a partner company was killed in a suspected gas explosion at a ship's rudder production plant in Hanwha Ocean's Okpo plant on the 12th. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.

"We reported it to the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor immediately after the accident, and we are doing our best to identify and deal with the exact cause of the accident and making every effort to come up with measures to prevent a recurrence," Hanwha Ocean said.
