[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that financial authorities are seeking to impose fines worth 20 billion won on Doosan Enerbility, which is suspected of accounting fraud. If the amount is confirmed in the future, it is expected to be the largest ever fine related to accounting fraud.

According to the financial investment industry on the 7th, the Securities and Futures Commission scheduled for the 7th will determine the level of sanctions against Doosan Enerbility and Samjeong Accounting Corp., an audit firm at the time of accounting irregularities. The amount of fines for Doosan Enerbilitys being pushed by financial authorities is reportedly around KRW 20 billion. However, the final decision on whether to impose fines will be made by the Financial Services Commission in the future.

The 20 billion won fine is more than four times higher than the 4.545 billion won fine ever imposed during the previous Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering accounting fraud case.

Meanwhile, the financial authorities will finalize other sanctions against Doosan Enerbility and Samjung Accounting Corporation on the 7th.
