[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Motor's Kona will continue to receive subsidies from the French government for electric vehicles.

The French government released a list of applications for electric vehicle subsidies on the 14th (local time).

There are 78 kinds of 22 brands in total.

It was originally expected to be released on the 15th, but the schedule was moved up by one day.

According to this, only Hyundai Motor's Kona is eligible for subsidies among Korean producers. In addition to Kona, Kia Niro and Soul have been eligible for subsidies in France, but they have been excluded this time.

France has changed its policy to provide subsidies based on carbon emissions, or environmental scores, in the entire process of producing and transporting electric vehicles.

The score is calculated by summing up carbon emissions by dividing them into six categories: steel, aluminum, other raw materials, batteries, assembly and transportation. Subsidies are given only to electric vehicles with a score of at least 60 out of 80.

Including the U.S. Tesla model Y produced in Berlin, Germany, three Japanese Toyotas, one Mazda and two Nissans will also receive subsidies.
