[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor Group's premium brand, Genesis, will also introduce a hybrid car model.

According to The Korea Economic Daily on the 13th, Hyundai Motor Group started developing Genesis' hybrid car engine and system late last year. Hyundai Motor Group is expected to release a hybrid model based on a 2.5ℓ internal combustion engine engine that does not exist now as Genesis is a premium line. Once the system development is completed, it plans to go through various tests and bring it to the market early next year.

Genesis, which currently consists of models such as G70 G80 G90 and sports utility vehicles (SUV) such as GV60 GV70 GV80, originally set up a strategy to convert all new cars to electric cars in 2025.

Currently, Genesis' electric vehicle models include G80 with batteries in internal combustion engine vehicles and GV60 based on E-GMP, an GV70 electric vehicle platform.
