[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] NCSOFT Invests in Big Game Studio and Secures Global Publishing Rights for 'Breakers: Unlock the World'

NCSOFT has invested in domestic subculture developer Big Game Studio and secured the global publishing rights for the new game 'Breakers: Unlock the World.'

On the 5th, NCSOFT announced that it has invested 37 billion won in Big Game Studio, acquiring a 16.8% stake in the company.

Big Game Studio, founded in 2020 by CEO Choi Jae-young, developed the RPG 'Black Clover Mobile' based on the popular anime IP 'Black Clover' last year. The studio is currently working on a new subculture genre animation RPG, 'Breakers: Unlock the World.'

Previously, Big Game Studio attracted attention by securing investments from domestic game companies Pearl Abyss and Garena, a subsidiary of Tencent. In May, the studio also received an investment of 20 billion yen from Japanese entertainment company Kadokawa.

NCSOFT plans to secure the global publishing rights for 'Breakers: Unlock the World' and establish a long-term partnership to foster close cooperation in game development, technology, and business areas.
