NewJeans member Hani Pamm provided testimony on workplace bullying issues during a government audit held on October 15 at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. The audit focused on the Economic and Social Labor Commission, the Central Labor Commission, and the Minimum Wage Commission. Hani's participation highlights the increasing attention being given to workplace harassment and related concerns in the entertainment industry and beyond.

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] On the 15th, Hanni, a member of the girl group NewJeans, appeared as a witness at the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee hearing, where lawmakers from both sides condemned the ongoing issues of workplace bullying and ostracism within the industry.

Hanni claimed that a manager from a different label under the parent company, HYBE, told her to "ignore it like you didn't see it," alleging that HYBE attempted to downplay and cover up the incident by deleting CCTV footage.

In response, Kim Joo-young, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of HYBE and the CEO of Ador, which represents NewJeans, refuted this, stating, "There are conflicting claims between the parties."

The hearing also addressed the "worker status" of artists. Rep. Ahn Ho-young stated, "This issue should not be viewed as a problem specific to a particular group or as a gossip issue," adding that it symbolically highlights the plight of workers who are not protected by labor laws. He emphasized the need for measures to eliminate gaps in the system.

The dispute between HYBE and former Ador CEO Min Hee-jin was also a topic of discussion. Rep. Woo Jae-jun remarked, "Ms. Hanni, numerous artists, trainees, and managers could become victims in the power struggle among major shareholders," and stressed the necessity for the company to actively protect all its members.

HYBE initiated an audit of Min Hee-jin in April, alleging that she attempted to seize control of Ador. In August, Min was dismissed from her position, after which she filed a motion for a provisional injunction claiming that her dismissal was unjust and seeking reinstatement as CEO. Legal disputes between the two parties continue.
