[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung Electronics has established an R&D organization in Silicon Valley in the U.S. to boost its competitiveness in next-generation semiconductors.
According to the investment banking (IB) industry on the 16th, Samsung Electronics established Samsung federal inc’, a next-generation semiconductor R&D organization under the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Silicon Valley on May 12.
The organization entered the American General Corporation (DSA) in the device solution (DS) division of Samsung Electronics' semiconductor business. The market expects that Samsung Electronics will be able to actively utilize global semiconductor infrastructure, including the U.S., with its newly established R&D organization at the forefront.
In this regard, a Samsung Electronics official explained, "As the organization has been established, the specific plan has not been finalized yet."
