"According to the results of the investigation, we are also considering civil and criminal measures."

Earlier, suspicions were raised among "Odin" users that a person believed to be an employee of Kakao Games frequently shared undisclosed update information with guild members and acquaintances in the game.

In Odin, a multi-access role-playing game (MMORPG) centered on wars between guilds, the employee was found to have taken unfair advantage of the guild by preoccupying information.

The management team first announced on the 23rd, "After excluding the employee from the job, seizing and permanently suspending the account, we are conducting an internal investigation."

According to Kakao Games, the employee in question has been playing Odin since August 2021. Since then, he has joined the top guild in the game and once worked as a guild director.

Kakao Games said, "We will do our best to prevent recurrence by retraining service personnel and overhauling the monitoring process."
