[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Kakao and SM Entertainment have begun to cooperate in earnest by launching an integrated corporation in North America and targeting global markets.
Kakao Entertainment (Kakao Entertainment) launched SM and a local integrated corporation in North America. The goal is to create synergy by focusing on the core capabilities of the two companies, including SM's global intellectual property (IP) and production capabilities, Kakao Entertainment's music and record distribution network and multi-label system. The plan is to secure a solid business cooperation base and know-how based on North America and accelerate global markets such as Europe.
Especially, with the launch of the North American integrated corporation, artists from both companies will accelerate their global expansion and actively develop and invest in new IPs. As a result, the global activities of artists from both companies are expected to gain further momentum.
The two companies systematically establish a global 360-degree management system and support artists' global local activities such as album release, performance, broadcasting and promotion. It combines global network capabilities to strengthen partnerships with leading global entertainment companies as well as networks with local experts.
