[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Motor said it has no plans to change the operation schedule of its U.S. electric vehicle-only plant scheduled for the second half of next year.

Hyundai Motor Group is constructing Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA), an electric vehicle plant in Brian County, Georgia. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in October last year and aims to be completed in the second half of next year. Hyundai Motor Group plans to actively respond to IRA by producing 300,000 electric vehicles per year at HMGMA.

At the same time, Hyundai expects to achieve the performance equivalent to the top of the guidance presented earlier this year.

Regarding risk factors in the fourth quarter, Vice President Seo said, "The Hamas war in Israel will affect Israeli sales of 5,000 to 6,000 units in the fourth quarter alone," adding, "However, it is generally expected that annual performance will slightly exceed the upper part of the guidance."
