Jin Air |
[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Jin Air announced on the 12th that it will halt the sale of ramen on all routes starting October 1.
This decision follows recommendations from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport to strengthen safety measures during turbulence, aiming to prevent in-flight accidents such as burns.
Passengers on Jin Air flights will no longer have access to ramen services.
To minimize inconvenience, Jin Air plans to introduce alternative ready-to-eat meals and expand pre-order in-flight meal services.
While ramen was previously served in special zipper bags to prevent accidents, the confined cabin space still posed a risk of burns.
This move follows Korean Air’s decision last month to discontinue ramen service in economy class on long-haul routes, citing safety concerns amid increasing turbulence.
