[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] While the prosecution is investigating the "suspicion of giving all the work" of former KT CEO Koo Hyun-mo, the prosecution has summoned Jang Ji-ho, head of KT Telecop, and is speeding up the investigation.
According to legal circles on the 2nd, the Fair Trade Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (chief prosecutor Lee Jung-seop) called in KT Telecop executives and employees, including CEO Jang, several times as witnesses.
Former CEO Koo is suspected of driving his affiliate KT Telecop's work to KDFS, a facility management company, and providing unfair entertainment to outside directors to take control of the board of directors.
KDFS is a facility management company that manages buildings and other facilities, and has been managing KT Group facilities since taking over the facility management project that KT Estate was in charge of in August 2020.
The prosecution believes that KT Telecop changed its quality evaluation standards in favor of KDFS to give work to KDFS and adjusted the volume by unilaterally changing contract terms with existing companies. Based on the data submitted by the Fair Trade Commission and the testimony of witnesses, the investigation will be expanded.
Former CEO Koo is also suspected of having raised slush funds by inflating delivery costs at KT-owned hotels and used them for political lobbying.
