Hana Financial Group enters the '2 trillion won club' in half a year ... Settles for third place in financial holding company

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hana Financial Group was listed as the "2 trillion club" for the first time as it achieved record net profit on a semi-annual basis.

Hana Financial Group maintained its 'third place' after KB Financial Group (2.9967 trillion won) and Shinhan Financial Group (2.6262 trillion won). Fourth place is Woori Financial Group (1.5386 trillion won).

Hana Financial Group said in a conference call on the 27th that its cumulative consolidated net profit for the first half was KRW 2.209 trillion. This is an increase of 16.6% (288.4 billion won) from the same period last year. 

 

Net profit in the second quarter was 918.7 billion won, which was less than the market consensus (967.2 billion won), but increased 11.34% year-on-year.

Hana Financial Group has settled in the third place among financial holding companies, with its key affiliate Hana Bank doing well. Hana Bank's net profit in the first half of the year rose 33.9% (465.4 billion won) year-on-year to 1.839 trillion won.
