Korea Electric Power Corporation turned to the black for the first time in two years and six months.

The Korea Electric Power Corp. said it tentatively posted operating profit worth 1.9,966 trillion won in the third quarter of this year on a consolidated basis.

The company succeeded in making a turnaround from losses for nine consecutive quarters until the second quarter, including a deficit of 7.5 trillion won during the same period last year.

During the same period, sales rose 23.8 percent from the same period last year to 24.4,700 trillion won, while net profit also turned into a surplus of 8,333 billion won.
