Secondary battery short selling transaction for a month '200 billion won'

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] After the ban on short selling on the 6th of last month, there was a short selling transaction worth nearly KRW 200 billion in large rechargeable battery stocks alone for a month.

According to Koscom on the 5th, there were 49.9 billion won worth of short selling transactions at Ecoprobm from the 6th of last month to the 1st of this month. Ecopro and POSCO Holdings traded 46.9 billion won and 23.1 billion won, respectively. In addition, other secondary battery-related stocks such as LG Energy Solutions (KRW 22.8 billion), Samsung SDI (KRW 18.8 billion), POSCO Future M (KRW 16.5 billion), and LG Chem (KRW 8 billion) have signed contracts to sell public sales worth billions to tens of billions of won. The combined short selling of these stocks amounts to 186 billion won.

The cumulative short selling volume of the securities market as a whole was 446.1 billion won during this period, and the KOSDAQ market was 510.5 billion won. The market capitalization of listed stocks is five times the KOSDAQ market, but the amount of short selling transactions was higher on the KOSDAQ market.
