[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Toss Securities will recruit Kim Seung-yeon, General Manager (GM·) of Southeast Asia's global business solution for the global short-form (short video) mobile video platform "TikTok" as its next representative.
Toss Securities announced on the 13th that it will hold a shareholders' meeting on the 30th and raise the agenda to appoint Kim Seung-yeon as its new CEO. If the bill is passed, Kim will take the helm for a two-year term starting in April.
Kim was born in 1980 and is a U.S. citizen. I received a master's degree in bio and brain engineering from KAIST. Since then, he has worked as a marketing expert for 15 years as head of marketing in Google Asia and head of global business solutions in Southeast Asia. The industry sees Kim as an "unprecedented personnel" as he has no experience in the financial industry such as the securities industry.
Oh Chang-hoon, who has been leading the company since July last year, will return to his main job as chief technology officer (CTO) of Toss Securities.
Meanwhile, Toss Securities, which was launched in March 2021, posted 2.2 billion won in operating profit and 2.1 billion won in net profit in the third quarter of last year, the first quarterly surplus in a year and nine months.
