[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The online platform Qoo10 is under investigation by the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) for suspected violations of e-commerce laws.

According to industry sources on the 21st, the FTC recently sent investigators to Qoo10 Korea's headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, to conduct a field investigation.

The FTC is examining whether Qoo10 has failed to meet its reporting obligations under e-commerce laws or if it has misled consumers through false or exaggerated advertising.

Under e-commerce regulations, online shopping mall operators are required to report their business details, including the company name, email address, internet domain name, and server location, to the relevant local authorities. Qoo10 has not yet completed this reporting requirement.

Qoo10 is a global e-commerce platform group based in Singapore and has domestic online shopping companies such as TMON, WEMAKEPRICE, and Interpark Commerce as affiliates.
