[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Donald Trump’s job approval rating has dropped to its lowest level of his second administration, as the prolonged conflict with Iran and worsening economic pressures weigh on public sentiment.

According to NBC News on April 20 (local time), a latest poll conducted in partnership with SurveyMonkey found that President Trump’s approval rating stands at 37%.

Negative evaluations of his job performance reached 63%, with 50% of respondents describing their view as “very negative.” Roughly two-thirds of those surveyed expressed disapproval of Trump’s handling of inflation and the Iran conflict.

Only 32% of respondents viewed his response to inflation and the cost of living positively, while 68% expressed negative opinions. Notably, 52% said they viewed his handling of these issues as “very negative.”

Public sentiment toward the Iran conflict was similarly unfavorable. A total of 54% of respondents rated the administration’s handling of the situation as “very negative,” with an additional 13% expressing somewhat negative views. By contrast, 19% and 14% of respondents reported very positive and somewhat positive views, respectively.

Additionally, 61% of respondents said the United States should refrain from further military action against Iran, while only 23% supported considering all options, including deploying ground troops.

About two-thirds of respondents indicated that rising gasoline prices are affecting them and their families.

The survey was conducted online from March 30 to April 13 among 32,433 U.S. adults, with a margin of error of ±1.8 percentage points.
