[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Seoul, August 26, 2025 — Lee Bok-hyun, former Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), is preparing to open his own law office in central Seoul. According to financial industry sources on August 26, Lee recently signed a lease for office space in Jeong-dong, Jung-gu, to establish the “Lee Bok-hyun Law Office.”

Lee filed for reinstatement as an attorney with the Seoul Bar Association in June and, with his office now secured, is expected to begin practicing law in the near future.

Lee holds the distinction of being the first former prosecutor to lead the FSS. After passing the national bar exam in 2000 and completing the 32nd Judicial Research and Training Institute program, he began his career as a prosecutor. He handled several high-profile cases, including Hyundai Motor’s slush fund probe and the sale of Korea Exchange Bank by Lone Star.

He resigned from the prosecution in April 2022, but was appointed Governor of the FSS two months later under the Yoon Suk Yeol administration. Throughout his three-year tenure, Lee was recognized for taking an active stance on major financial issues. He stepped down from the post in June this year after completing his term.
