CJ ENM secures KBL professional basketball broadcasting rights for four years

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] CJ ENM has signed a broadcasting rights agreement with the Korean Basketball League (KBL), securing comprehensive rights for the KBL's official events from the 2024-2025 season through the 2027-2028 season. This four-year contract includes broadcasting rights, video business rights, and overseas broadcasting rights.


CJ ENM announced on the 28th that they will broadcast all regular season and playoff games through their sports channel, tvN SPORTS, among other channels. They will also offer exclusive streaming services via their OTT (over-the-top) platform, TVING.

Expanding its sports broadcasting portfolio, CJ ENM aims to establish itself as South Korea's premier sports platform. The company already covers major global sports events such as Wimbledon, the Australian Open, Roland Garros, UFC, the Euros, and the World Swimming Championships.

Earlier this year, CJ ENM achieved a combined peak viewership rating of 27.8% for the 2023 AFC Qatar Asian Cup broadcasts on tvN and tvN SPORTS. tvN SPORTS, known for innovative sports programming like "Viewing Party" and "Beginners Open," has seen its target viewership increase by over 20% annually.

Additionally, starting this year, CJ ENM has offered exclusive new media broadcasting for the KBO League (professional baseball) through the OTT platform TVING.
